ACSR – Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced BS EN 50182 (UK)

Application

Used as bare overhead transmission conductor and as primary and secondary distribution conductor and messenger support. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

Specifications
  • BS EN 50182 Conductors for overhead lines — Round wire concentric lay strandedconductors

Note:We also can produce based on other international standards, such as IEC、ASTM、AS  etc.

Construction

Concentrically stranded aluminum wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core.

  • Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core orinfusion of the complete cable with grease.
  • ACSR conductor is also available in non-specular.

How do you calculate the minimum bending radius of cables?
The bend radius refers to the curved shape in which an electrical cable can be bent or curved without sustaining damage. To determine the minimum bend radius for cables, apply the following formula: Minimum Bend Radius = Cable Outer Diameter×Cable Multiplier. For example, if the outer diameter of a cable is 20mm, its minimum bending radius would be 20mm×6 = 120mm. Conversely, if an armored cable has an outer diameter of 30mm, its minimum bending radius would be 30mm×12 = 360mm.
What are the weight limits for different types of packages?
The weight limit for a wooden drum or steel wooden is 5,000 kg, and for a steel drum, it is 10,000 kg.
What is the length tolerance for cables?
The tolerance for the power cable is 0 to +0.5%. For the bare conductor, the tolerance is ±5%.
What is the minimum order quantity for the product?
The minimum order quantity for low and medium voltage cables is 200 meters, whereas for high voltage cables, it is 2000 meters. Should the order quantity fall below the MOQ, however, if the factory has stock, we can still supply it.
What is the service life of cables?
The design life of power cables is typically 20 to 30 years; however, this can vary significantly based on factors such as installation, environmental conditions, and the quality of the cable.
What is the validity period for the offer of cable?
Typically, the offer is valid for 7 to 30 days, and the price will be adjusted according to the cost of raw materials and the exchange rate.
